Community Event |

Yesterday (20th Dec) we done a community engagement event at the Lullingstone Park Run in Eynsford. The event was supported by officers from the Swanley Neighbourhood Task Force and beat team. There were five officers who ran the 5km route in full uniform. This visibility was extremely positively received by the public, with excellent feedback from participants and spectators. In addition, officers including PCSOs staffed an engagement stand throughout the event. They were issuing personal panic alarms, provided anti-spiking equipment as well as delivering crime prevention advice to members of the public. The panic alarms proved particularly popular, especially among female runners, who highlighted concerns around solo running in remote areas and poor lighting for their personal safety. This engagement provided a valuable opportunity to address vulnerabilities linked to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). The event also resulted in a high number of My Community Voice (MCV) sign-ups and the completion of multiple VAWG surveys, further supporting ongoing engagement and intelligence-gathering objectives. Overall, the event was successful and provided great community reassurance.
